WHAT WE’VE DONE

The office will be a workspace for a law firm Continental, which is why, right as they enter, the clients will be greeted with the company name, affixed to the ceiling. The space was divided into several notional sections. First, an entrance area (separated from the rest of the office with a partition), with enough room for a closet and a so-called consumer corner (dedicated space for displaying documentation and regulations relevant to customers). Next, a workspace, with five desks for company employees. Each employee has a separate desk with its own socket strip and dedicated lights. And finally, towards the back of the office, there is an area with grand floor-to-ceiling windows, where we placed a large desk for the company director, and a conference area, separated with a wooden slat partition. For accents, we created a custom light fixture made of a neon strip, which is especially striking in the evenings. The wall above the printer is adorned with a map of Russia. The company plans to expand to other cities, and each time a new branch office opens its doors, a new hole will be drilled into the map and it shall come alight thanks to the built-in diode tape. The lighting setup was designed with the total area of the space in mind and in full accordance with other principles of lightning design. The final design turned out to be quite tough and rugged, clearly in the loft style. Dramatic colors and textured layers of plaster balance out the wooden surfaces of tables, cabinets, and slats and help to unify the overall tone.
