Japanese minimalism
We are pleased to present to you the design project of an apartment in a modern Japanese style, filled with details unique to our studio.
This project represents the perfect combination of elegant aesthetics and simplicity, united by the distinctive charm of Japanese culture. Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, we have focused on minimalism and the use of natural tones to create a calm and harmonious atmosphere in each room. As you enter, you will be greeted by three canvases reminiscent of the art of Japanese calligraphy, Shodo, where each brushstroke holds meaning. These three strokes on the canvases mirror the composition of pendant lights in the dining area, when viewed from above. The space of the rooms is predominantly pared down to a monochromatic palette, with beige and white shades prevailing. However, we have left room for textural diversity - in one room you may encounter wood, concrete, and stone, but most textures are painted in the color of the walls, ensuring that the abundance of details is concealed at first glance, only revealing themselves upon closer inspection or under different lighting sources. The neutral color palette and soft wood tones are inspired by nature. Each room features elements of wabi-sabi, such as rough plastering, rounded corners, and tree stumps serving as bedside tables, reminding us of the beauty of simplicity and naturalness. At the same time, the apartment is designed with all modern comfort concepts in mind, from furniture and appliances to a basic set of smart electrical systems.
It strikes the perfect balance at the junction of ancient philosophy and modern living.
