What do the spectrum effect, Tyson, and astronauts have in common? And what to do when there are unclear protrusions and recesses in the walls of a project? Let us tell you about our apartment project for a young family with two children.
Having different niches in the walls in the architecture of the house, we tried not to abandon them or cover them up, but to make these places distinctive features of the project. Thus, in the kitchen-living room, there appeared a niche on the wall with a TV, which we made from porcelain stoneware, with backlighting and shelves. On the opposite wall, we created two canvases with a thin black line, and visually this creates an effect from physics, as if the spectrum of light is passing through these canvases and hitting the niche.
In the master bedroom, we similarly decided to leave a recess in the wall near the bed and use it as a decorative element with bedside lighting. In addition, the table in the kitchen and the one in the bedroom have legs that are the same in shape and material, creating a unified base concept. The bedroom wardrobe and the desk are separate art objects with beautiful visuals and materials.
In the hallway, we used the same porcelain stoneware on the wall as in the kitchen and on the legs of the tables, and also provided for evening lighting and a place for outdoor shoes.
The bathroom and the guest toilet are designed in the overall style of the project, but each has its own unique touch, with carefully selected designer models of plumbing and lighting fixtures.
The project includes two children's bedrooms for boys, each with its own character in accordance with the wishes and hobbies of the children. In the first children's room, we have a theme of space, which is indicated by the hovering element near the bed simulating a lunar surface and wall lights resembling astronauts. In the second children's room, the child is interested in boxing, and its style is more rugged, featuring a mural of the legendary boxer Mike Tyson on the wall.
The project turned out to be very interesting and filled. Despite the external similarity of some of our works, we strive to fill each individual project with unique details, and this apartment is no exception.
