Chinoiserie originates from medieval Chinese artistic traditions. At one time, all of Europe imitated this style, brought aboard the East India Company, in the 17th century. Chinoiserie is related to the Rococo style. We took only the basis of Chinese philosophy — restraint, minimalism, and calm tones. And only a fresco of cranes flying carefree over the endless spaces of the canyonmore boldly reminds one of the oldest civilizations in the world.
